when we play, we play as a team
we gotta stick together
through successes and setbacks alike
there's no blaming of anyone
we can point fingers
but will it change the result?
there's no point in blaming yourself

to those still sore over nationals
it's time to get up and carry on
if you cant get up by yourself, get someone to pull you
if you think losing a match is a failure
think again
cgirls`04 didn even get to nationals
we couldn even get 4th out of 5 schools in east zone
but what did we do?
we defied all odds to get zonal champs this year
through failures we learnt the pain of defeat
through failures we came back stronger than ever before
impossible is nothing

Ying en's entry was.. wonderful. Indeed, Lin jL took over the team which was actually a shambles, but look at who we are now. We've came so far, and we owe what we have now to him. i.e Zonals Champ, Nationals Top 8 (:

It's really great to have seniors like you people. Every one of you brought fun & laughter into the team, and not forgetting the lame jokes that you people always tell us.

The saturday trainings, lunch-out @ 85, my birthday celebration, team-outing @ TM, are very significant. They represent the strong bonding that we share, and how much fun we had together, as one whole united team.

To the Most Wonderful Seniors:

It's a memorable year for me, the team, and for you people, isn't it? In terms of the team's performance in Zonals & Nationals, our Strong Team-bonding, and for the times we had together. It's really.. Hmm i can't phrase it in words, but I really do enjoy the company of you people. It's a great pleasure to have you people around!

I wonder how life will be like without you guys. The t.t room will be so empty :'(

You guys make up part of my life in AHS, and to speak the truth, It's really unbearable to see you people leave.

Whatever it is, I'm going to treasure the remaining days you people have in AHS & in our Wonderful Team. No matter what, you people will be the awesome seniors of mine (:

To ying en:
It's really nice to have you around, for you're always there to cheer me on when i'm feeling low, there to lend me a helping hand when i'm feeling helpless, and you're always the one who give me advices. You're the one who made me Trust in Him again, you're always the one. Thanks for being our best Captain & for being the forever shining STAR_*!

To Yubing, Liuying:
Although we don't frequent in one-to-one conversations, but your presence in the team did make a difference, for you are always there to bring laughter to the team (: It's really great to have you around. Really, it is.

To Hui ying & Fu foong:
I do enjoy teasing you and poking fun at you, (okay you do too!) and i'm glad to know you better this year! Without you (esp F2), who's going to sing during trainings? who's going to give me one mega-watt smile (hahah hui ying!)?

To Xiao hua:
I've seen how you fought so hard on court, and I've also seen the weaker side of you. It's wonderful to have you around, cos' if you not, there won't be Twin Towers! What's going to happen to Tracy --- the other tower? I admire your fighting spirit on Friday's match with St Nic!

an eventful 3+ years in anglican high table tennis
coming to an end?
or has the journey just begun?


2003 -
it started with the traditional introduction of sec ones
someone cried, but its pointless saying who
since we all know who (:
coach then was still dong jL
the one who allowed 2 subs to comp only
due to SARS, the table tennis season ended in JULY
even though that means a long time to interact with seniors
we hardly knew them;
the year whizzed past /
li jL became our coach in august


2004 -
first batch of juniors! (:
the very proud seniors (esp fufoong) made sure of one thing :
traditonal introduction
to the disappointment of one, nobody cried (:
finally the older generation of the team /
we strived (only) to bring the team to nationals
nothing beyond that
lacking belief, we failed
line-up that year was frequently changed
doubles almost never stayed the same
bgirls got into nationals /
the first time we got to see our dear lin jL (:
timeout!
jiu shi ji xu zhe yang da!
unsurprsingly, we had a poor impression of him as a coach
come august, pear left for sss
lin jL took over a team in shambles
sent us for competitions after competitions
one trophy we got back /
chan soo sen cup played on sept 9 10 and 11
so seperated was the team,
even farewell wasn emotional


2005 -
lin jL's first batch of students!
or say, players
still, the team continued to mix only in their own levels
perhaps some of sec 3s went out with the sec 4s
sec 2s with sec 1s /
in our respective divisions
due to the (poor) scheduling of the matches
BCgirls only get to play on the same day twice
we never really bothered to catch our juniors' matches
[im thinking so hard about who played doubles
(other than connie/zhiying)
i need honey water] -- digress
nationals?
im not fit to comment on anything
came along sports heats and sports day
in between, yubing was made vice-capt
i guess from then on
people from the different levels started interacting (:
hols trng!
thats when we really got to know each other
working towards one goal as ONE /
not one division, but ONE TEAM
trng no longer was about picking balls and closing doors
it was more of interacting with jL
and of cos, suaning him (:
in this way, we became united
especially in our speech (:
farewell was great;
photos, photos, and more photos /
a few tears shed


2006 -
started with saturday trngs and lunching out at 85 (:
come to think of it, it started with zhiying's bday at 85

we haven forgot that some of you haven done sth :

closer and closer the team got
stronger and stronger bond the team forged
jL may not have any high expectations of the Bgirls
but we had one purpose /
win every match that comes our way
definitely, mercury the star performer,
shunzi and gelin too
hweeli, only when whoever's around (:
xiaohua and tracy, all except the first match
andrea yubing jiehui shiyu fought back real well
zhiying and connie never really given the chance to shine,
so with fufoong and huiying
nationals; discouraged with our draw /
we still made a pact to give our opponents our best fight
liuying, from bad jing xis to good jing xis
melinda finally won the first two sets of her matches
xiao la jiao ending the competition with a 3-0 victory


to some, we performed below expectations
to others, we exceeded them by far
maybe, some think, its the umpire's fault
no doubt, it affected our morale
blame ourselves for letting it affect us

think again
this comp had made us a stronger person
in terms of handling homework
and in terms of handling defeats
psychologically and mentally
if you haven felt stronger,
go lift more dumbells! (:


thank you juniors -
for the joy, smiles, laughter you've brought to this team
the sweet, sweet memories you've planted in our hearts
when we're down,
your encouragements lifted our spirits
your words warmed our hearts
everytime we win a point,
you celebrate it with us
similarly, everytime we lose,
the pain is the same
you've become an essential part in our daily lives;
an ingredient that adds flavour in our broth
you are like korean noodles with chilli
and spaghetti with cheese
[i haven had lunch and its 2+ pm]

'don't b sad!! there's still many yrs to cum!! honestly, u guys did realli realli realli great! :))) n i can realli tell u, i'm proud of ALL of YOU juniors!! :) dun b affected by this small defeat! but make this b a lil spark that shall trigger u guys to train harder alrite?? still looking forward to screaming n shouting for u all @ next yr nationals finals alrite?!! jiayou n honestly, GREAT JOB! :))) to all of us seniors, u gurls r winners already...'
